Diet after Weight Loss Surgery - Facts You Must Know

by Ms.Neetu Bajaj

The main goal of designing these dietary stages is to help you get all the vital nutrients , you need while helping the wounds to heal in your digestive system & to provide you with enough hydration inyour rapid weight loss phase post surgery.

There are majorly four stages to the post surgery diet that will help you to achieve your weight loss goal and the last fifth maintenance stage is to be followed the rest of your life. It is very important for you to follow these dietary stages and guidelines religiously. Do not be tempted to skip stages or rush things. The diet will transition from liquids to puree/ soft to solids. Upon reaching the stage four, your diet consists of small, low fat and high protein meals, as advised to you by your Bariatric Nutritionist. Fluids intake will be most important for maintaining hydration throughout each stage of the diet progression, therefore a goal of at least 1.5 litres – 2 litres
is usually recommended.
